Industry Guidance (INDG476) 2015 - Storing and selling pyrotechnic articles safely

HSE published in February 2015 and available to download on the HSE web site or the Illuminate web library  (subscriber access)

Explosive Regulation 2014

HSE recently publish a number of ER2014 Level 2 subsector guidance documents in draft, some of which have particular relevance to firework operators, primarily, ER2014 - Professional firework display operator
Illuminate has previously notified these publications and reminds firework operators that they will affect your business operations and they should either review these (within ELR) or watch out for first publication.
The documents have been published on the ELR community for familiarisation and comment though access to the community is by invitation only, so if you wish to view and/or comment on the guidance, email your details to ELR@hse.gsi.gov.uk
Illuminate also has draft copies that can be provided by email on request to Illuminate subscribers for familiarisation only.

PwSK course dates

New course dates for ‘Persons with Specialist Knowledge’ competency (1 day course) to be announced this week and will be shown on the Illuminate Course Diary and emailed directly to subscribers and interested parties.
Illuminate has previously asked for expressions of interest for locations but the response has given a very wide UK wide spread!

For now, dates are given for the Cheshire location and limited places at a Swindon venue. This is reviewed constantly and new courses/dates/locations will be added subject to potential demand.
